Alaska Airlines will begin new daily nonstop service between Paine Field-Snohomish Country Airport in Everett, Washington, and Anchorage on Nov. 30, according to an announcement. Everett is about 20 miles north of Seattle and 70 miles south of Bellingham. Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances for the carrier, said the company listened to its guests who live and work from north of Seattle to the Canadian border. “They told us,” he said, “one of their top requests is a nonstop flight between Everett and Anchorage.” There’s a significant need and demand to connect workers and businesses in the two regions, said Catlin, from the fishing industry to aviation — in addition to the desire for leisure travel. Flights will depart Everett every morning at 11:05 a.m. and arrive in Anchorage at 2:05 p.m. They will depart Anchorage at 1:40 p.m. and arrive in Everett at 6:10 p.m. The flights will use Embraer 175 aircraft.
