Aer Lingus will begin nonstop flights between Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and Dublin beginning July 8, 2019. The carrier will operate the daily service using Boeing 757 aircraft. Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission in Minneapolis, said that research had shown a “significant demand” among Minnesota’s business community for direct air service to Ireland. He said that information demonstrated to Aer Lingus officials that nonstop service between the two cities would be profitable for the airline. Dublin is the second new international route for MSP announced this year. Delta Air Lines has announced service to Seoul, to begin April 1, 2019. With the addition of Dublin, MSP offers direct scheduled service to six European cities with the others being Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris and Reykjavik.
