Addison Lee, a managed car company, is launching a digital global service that allows customers to book rides via its app in over 100 cities worldwide. Through the Addison Lee app and via the web, corporate customers are now able to book cars around the world – including Paris, Berlin, Beijing and Johannesburg. Booking internationally through the app or web is a similar customer experience to making reservations for Addison Lee’s current London or New York services. Using a combination of Apple Maps and Google Maps APIs, customers are taken to a local city map, and their location is identified through a pin. This is the latest move in Addison Lee’s global expansion, which has included the purchase of the Tristar and Flyte Tyme car service businesses and Tandem Technologies, a corporate booking platform. To support its international expansion, the company said it is investing $90 million in additional fleet for its operations in London and New York.
