Accor is launching a new lifestyle hotel brand in the midscale segment called Tribe. The company said the product was created in response to travelers seeking a high-quality lodging experience at an affordable price. Among the brand’s attributes are: smart design, including several “creative areas” for working, meeting or having a drink; “artistic” furnishings; Smart TV’s in rooms; free Nespresso coffee capsules and T2 teabags; 24/7 Grab & Go stations; food areas that function as a café by day and a bar by night; bicycle rentals; and fitness centers. There is currently one Tribe open in Perth, Australia, with 10 other openings scheduled to take place by 2022 in Europe and Asia-Pacific, totaling more than 1,700 rooms. With an overall pipeline of over 50 hotels, the brand is aiming at 150 international destinations by 2030.
